Why Huddle?
Community matters. In our tech-driven world, we have endless information at our fingertips, yet the journey often feels solitary. Science shows that our brains thrive on connection—whether through conversation, shared activities, or social engagement. We’re wired for human interaction, and these connections boost our mental and physical well-being, enhance learning, strengthen our sense of self, and foster supportive relationships. But beyond all that, connection is inherently valuable. At Huddle, we create the space for meaningful connections—everything else naturally follows.
Belonging is Not Following
Teens are spending less time together and more time online, which has led to an uptick of teen anxiety, loneliness, and depression. Puberty is notoriously an age where self-esteem can decline, particularly for girls. The internal and external pressures our teen girls feel is real, such as academic performace, appearance, popularity, and relationships.
Huddle seeks to restore connection by providing a space for girls to share, feel supported, and hear other perspectives that help them to shape their identities. Each in-person workshop series lasts five sessions, enabling girls to build trust with one another. Huddle fosters community for girls at an age when friendships and relationships can support their long-term mental health and academic performance. Huddle is not therapy, but it can be therapeutic.
